Sai Dharam Tej, with Bro, will be the first of the second generation kids from the Konidela family to be sharing screen space with uncle and ‘power star’ Pawan Kalyan. Written and directed by Samuthirakani with dialogues, screenplay by Trivikram, the entertainer will release in theatres worldwide this Friday on July 28. Ketika Sharma plays Sai Dharam Tej’s love interest.
In a recent interaction, the star opened up on the experience of acting with Pawan Kalyan and why it was special. “The first day of the shoot was special with Pawan Kalyan where I had to feed him cake in a scene. The shot was ready, they gave me a spoon with cake and I just had to just go and give it to him. I kept getting many takes wrong and I didn’t understand why,” he said.
“When I looked at the monitor, I realised that my hand was shivering. It was the first shot I was supposed to do with him and it’ll always remain special to me,” the actor added. After the initial ‘challenge’ on the first day, it was a smooth ride on shoot. There was another sequence that got him anxious later but his uncle eased his nerves.
“I had to act drunk in the party scene in front of Pawan Kalyan and I was uncomfortable initially. After the scene, he was pulling my leg and said that I was good at it (drinking) off-screen too. Challenges come to people only those who deserve it. I had to prove myself and I hope I did it.” Associating with Pawan Kalyan is an experience I can’t put into words, he further stated.
Produced by People Media Factory and Zee Studios, the film has music by S Thaman, cinematography by Sujith Vaasudev and was edited by Navin Nooli.
