Veteran actor Sharmila Tagore recently made an appearance on Indian Idol on Sony TV, and her son Saif Ali Khan sent a video message to her in support of her presence and to congratulate her on her accomplishments. The actor also talked about how his mother managed to keep a good balance between work and family at a time when it was common for female actors to leave the business after having children.

Saif said in the video that despite Sharmila working on so many films, they never missed having her around since she had successfully balanced her business and personal lives. He was heard saying that despite the fact that she was working so hard, they never felt her absence in the home. Sharmila's professional and home lives were always in balance with one another. She has always served as an example to them and to all women worldwide, particularly those who are working women.

Saif went on to say that Sharmila has defied all expectations and kept working even after having children. The biggest hits of her career at that time included Aradhana, Amar Prem, and Chupke Chupke, among many others. Because she taught them to appreciate professional women, Saif is watching their son Taimur Ali Khan at home while his wife and actor Kareena Kapoor Khan is in London for a shoot.

Sharmila Tagore was ecstatic about the video. Saba Pataudi posted the excerpt to her Instagram page. She wrote in her caption, "Tribute to MA from the Family. Here's something for those who may have missed it! Obviously it's been edited and, as you noticed, only a part of what I shared earlier as well. Contribution from us to her matters more... so here goes!"

She further wrote, "Thank you again #indianidol13 for making her a part of this show! I truly think it's one of the best episodes yet! And hats off to the contestants n judges who have a tough call... great show."

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Soha Ali Khan also praised Sharmila for being a wonderful mother and her contribution to the film industry for almost six decades.
