Not many know but Saif Ali Khan was associated with Jaane Jaan almost a decade back. Sujoy Ghosh broke the news during the trailer launch of the film. Kareena then shared more details about how her husband is associated with the film. She also spoke about Saif’s reaction to the recently released trailer.
Sujoy reveals Saif was associated with the movie
“Saif has a history with the film. Like a true husband, he shoved all his responsibilities to her,” Sujoy said at the trailer launch. While joking about it, he did reveal that the script was in the Pataudi house, just waiting to be worked upon. “This is almost 10 years later,” Kareena added.
Saif is most excited about Jaane Jaan
She further revealed that her husband is most excited about the film. The actress shared that Saif is excited because it is everyone (Sujoy, Kareena, Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat) together.
How did Saif react on watching the trailer?
Now that the trailer is out for everyone to watch , Kareena revealed what was Saif’s reaction when he saw it back when the final cuts were being made. “He’s eagerly waiting to watch this film. He’s seen the promo at least 3-4 times and he feels (like) everyone has completely killed it,” she shared at the launch.
What is Jaane Jaan?
Jaane Jaan is a film that is adapted from the bestselling Japanese novel, The Devotion of Suspect X. Keigo Higashino’s novel, released in 2005, is a story of a clash between a maths genius and his equally talented university batchmate. Things get interesting as we get to know that the latter is investigating the murder case of the genius’ former neighbour. This time, however, things have changed, since one is a teacher who is an expert at martial arts and the other is a cop. They both are emotionally invested with Maya D’Souza (played by Kareena).
The direct-to-OTT release will start streaming on Netflix from September 21, 2023. The film is backed by Ekta Kapoor.
