Director Sailesh Kolanu, who scored a hit with the crime thriller Hit 2 recently, is trying to give Venkatesh what Lokesh Kankagaraj gave for Kamal Haasan with Vikram. Sailesh’s next Saindhav, which went on floors recently, also marks the Telugu debut of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and is backed by Venkat Boyanapalli of Niharika Entertainment, the banner that produced Shyam Singha Roy earlier.

Several speculations have been doing the rounds about the female lead in the action entertainer and it looks like we finally have some clarity. The powerhouse performer Shraddha Srinath, who made a mark in multiple industries with her work across films like Witness, U Turn, Jersey, Krishna and his Leela, has come on board for Saindhav. The makers made the news official today.

Shraddha is cast as a woman named Manognya in Saindhav. In the poster unveiled by the makers, she is lost in thoughts while holding a tiffin box, seated in a taxi. Her last Telugu release was the Siddhu Jonnalagadda starrer Krishna and his Leela, directed by Ravikanth Perepu in 2020, which premiered on two OTT platforms - Netflix, aha. She’s returning to Telugu cinema after a three-year break.

While the first schedule of Saindhav was wrapped up in Hyderabad recently, the makers returned to sets for another schedule in Vizag after a brief break. Key sequences featuring the leads will be shot in this schedule. The film has a top notch technical team comprising lensman S Manikandan, editor Garry BH and production designer Avinash Kolla. Santhosh Narayanan composes the music.

2023 is turning out to be an eventful year for Saindhav’s star Venkatesh. While he made his web debut with Netflix’s Rana Naidu and returned to Hindi cinema with Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, his first pan-Indian film Saindhav will hit screens this December 22 for the Christmas weekend.
