Venkatesh Daggubati’s action crime film Saindhav released in theatres across India on January 13. The actor's performance and the action-packed scenes in Saindhav had viewers glued to their screens, garnering praise from netizens.

Some users of X (formerly known as Twitter) commented that South Indian films have outperformed Bollywood releases this week, while others praised the actor's appearance and the film's intense second half. Many have also praised Saindhav's poignant moments, especially those involving the father-daughter relationship.

“Saindhav has one of the finest executed action sequences in recent times. Venkatesh's ferocious act and Nawazuddin's terrific performance make the film an intriguing watch,” one wrote.

Another hailed the action movie as a one-time watch because of the cast's power-packed performances.

Venkatesh, who has gained popularity throughout India with his previous works, makes a fierce appearance in this film, playing the protagonist, Saindhav Koneru.

Fans and movie buffs had high expectations from the movie after the makers unveiled the film’s trailer and first looks. Following favourable reviews from all around the country, the film will also be a serious contender for other major releases this week, including Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram and Teja Sajja's HanuMan.

With a troubled past, Saindhav Koneru, also known as SaiKO, resides with his wife Manogya and daughter Gayathri. When it is discovered that Gayathri has spinal muscular atrophy and requires a costly ₹17 crore injection, things take an unexpected turn. How he is forced to return to the criminal world in order to obtain the money and his conflict with some of his former foes, among them the vicious gangster Vikas Malik, form the crux of the film.
