Sailesh Kolanu directs Saindhav, an action thriller that releases on January 13, 2024
Venkatesh, who made his OTT debut this year with the controversial show Rana Naidu on Netflix, will be seen in a rugged, stylish avatar in his upcoming project Saindhav, the 75th film in his career. The film has an ensemble cast comprising names like Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Arya, Shraddha Srinath, Ruhani Sharma and Andrea Jeremiah. Hit 2 director Sailesh Kolanu wields the megaphone.
After making an impression with the slick, action-packed teaser, Saindhav will return to entertain audiences with a single. Santhosh Narayanan composes the music for the film. The first song from the film is titled Wrong Usage and will be a peppy, mass number where Venkatesh will groove alongside a group of dancers. Wrong Usage will be out online across all music streaming platforms on November 21.
“Wishing everyone a sparkling Diwali. #SAINDHAV First single #WrongUsage on NOV 21st. Mass fun :) Our Venky mama killed it with his style and energy. Lyrics by @boselyricist will stay with you for a long long time :),” director Sailesh Kolanu shared his excitement about the song while announcing the launch date. Saindhav marks Santhosh Narayanan’s second collaboration with Venkatesh after Guru.
While the film was to arrive in theatres during the Christmas season in 2023, Saindhav was forced to make way for Salaar, a sudden entrant for the festive weekend. This has paved the way for a Sankranthi release for Saindhav, Venkatesh’s last release during the festival was in 2015 - Gopala Gopala, the Telugu remake of Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar’s Oh My God.
Besides Saindhav, Venkatesh and Rana Daggubati will reunite for the second season of their show Rana Naidu, which will be out on Netflix by mid 2024. The star is yet confirm another feature film after Saindhav but has been keenly listening to scripts. Saindhav will release amidst immense competition for Sankranthi, clashing with HanuMan, Guntur Kaaram, Family Star and Naa Saami Ranga.
