Saiyami Kher will appear in R Balki's Ghoomer, a moving and motivational sports drama, shortly. The actor portrays a para-athlete and cricket phenom in the film. Although she had always played cricket, playing a para-athlete in this role was particularly difficult for her because she had to put a lot of effort into being the persona.

Saiyami said in a statement that while she portrays a left-handed bowler in Ghoomer, she bowls with her right hand. Although she could never truly put herself in a para-athlete's shoes, the small challenges she faced as an athlete made her realise how much they take for granted. Saiyami's eyes were opened in a way that she never anticipated while preparing for and filming Ghoomer. That was a physically and emotionally taxing time, but in comparison to the heroes who represent the nation in so many sports as para-athletes, the actor's troubles paled in comparison.

Abhishek Bachchan, Angad Bedi, and Shabana Azmi all play significant roles in the 2023 film Ghoomer, which is about a sporting prodigy. In the film, Angad plays her love interest, while Abhishek plays her coach.

While talking about the film, Balki told The Times of India that Ghoomer is not a conventional cricket movie, nor is it intended to be one about a women's cricket team, women's emancipation, or gender relations. They originally wrote this four years ago. It concerns a person's fortitude in refusing to wallow in self-pity. This individual just so happens to be female. It's amazing what Saiyami has accomplished with this job. A complex character is also played by Abhishek, and his role is about someone who assists her character without feeling sorry for their predicament. He is a man who hasn't had the best life, but he wants to support someone else in realising their ambition.

The movie, which is currently in post-production, is co-written by Balki, Rahul Sengupta, and Rishi Virmani and is based on the life of Karoly Takacs, a deceased right-handed shooter from Hungary who used his left hand to win two gold medals at the Olympics after his other hand was seriously injured.
