Sajid Nadiadwala reveals a big update on Salman Khan's Kick 2: It’s completely written, but...

Salman Khan fans have been eagerly waiting for the sequel of his 2014 blockbuster Kick, which was also the directorial debut of Sajid Nadiadwala. The filmmaker has now confirmed that Kick 2 is in the pipeline and has shared an exciting update on the movie.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Sajid Nadiadwala said that Kick 2 is one of his favourite IP and he gets overwhelming response from the audience as well as the film industry each time he talks about the sequel. He revealed that the script for Kick 2 is ready and Salman Khan has also read it.

He added, "Now, I promise that there will be an extension to Kick. The subject is there on paper, it’s completely written but needs time. We need a bigger scale and a better time for its release. We need to have cinema consumption back in fashion for us to make Kick. Once we return to normal, I will be ready to take Kick 2 on floors.” 

Sajid Nadiadwala also said that he is looking for a better time to release Kick 2, which will bring back Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez as the lead pair. He said that he just needs the excitement of the audience to come back and then he can plan Kick 2 accordingly.

Kick, which was released in 2014, was a remake of a Telugu film of the same name. It featured Salman Khan as Devi Lal Singh aka Devil, a man who seeks thrill (Kick) in life. Jacqueline Fernandez played his love interest Shaina, who is a psychiatrist. The film also starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the main antagonist Shiv Gajra and Randeep Hooda as a cop Himanshu Tyagi. The film was a huge hit at the box office and collected over Rs 200 crore in India.

Kick 2 is expected to take the story forward and introduce new twists and turns in the lives of Devil and Shaina. The film will also have Emraan Hashmi as a new villain, who will challenge Salman Khan's character. Reports also suggest that Shah Rukh Khan will make a cameo appearance in Kick 2, as he did in Salman Khan's Tubelight.

Kick 2 is likely to go on floors next year and release in 2024.
