Sakamato Days has been renewed for a second season. The makers have confirmed the same with an announcement video. The clip sees Sakamoto in faster-than-light action. The best part about the clip, as expected, is the animation quality. This time around too, Sakamoto Days promises good action. For the uninitiated, even the manga grew better as the story unfolded. Similar is the case with the anime.
While the release date for Sakamoto Days 2 is still not confirmed, the anime is now confirmed to be in production. Taro Sakamoto, who finely managed his family life while dealing with the criminals threatening them, is here with bigger challenges. As always, he is not alone. His team members Shin Asakura, Yoichi Nagumo and Shishiba are back to entertain and showcase their skills even in the second season.
Sakamoto Days season 2 is likely to explore the fifth chapter – the JCC (Japan Clear Creation) arc. In this, Sakamoto is on a mission to infiltrate the school, where he is obviously attacked by his enemies. The arc is considered the third longest in the history of Sakamoto Days.
Sakamoto’s Past Arc, where Sakamoto explains at length what his past is like to Shin, could be explored this season. Of course, following that would be Bangkok Arc, which is the seventh story in the manga. This is where X’s organization members are faced against Sakamoto and his gang. It is to be noted that while the arcs are not officially confirmed, the trailer does hint at them being explored with the anime.
Sakamoto Days was one of the newer anime released in 2025. The first season was divided into two parts. The second season, currently in production, could be out on Netflix across the globe in 2027. Meanwhile, Sakamoto Days gets a live-action film which is expected to debut in April 2026 (confirmed for Japan, uncertain about global release).
