'Salaar is 80-85% complete, except for...': Hombale Films boss Vijay Kiragandur shares key details

Hombale Films has promised to deliver a variety of enterprising content in the next five years with a big-ticket release planned for every year going forward. While 2022 saw KGF 2 and Kantara filling that quota, the year 2023 has 'Salaar' written all over it - the Telugu-Kannada bilingual is slated to release on September 28, 2023, as a bona fide pan-India release. With Prashanth Neel at the helm and Rebel Star Prabhas leading from the front, fans can rest assured that there is another spectacle in store for them.

The makers, however, have remained tight-lipped about the film's storyline and the proceedings related to the shoot. Prashanth Neel & Co. has already endured several delays due to factors like the pandemic, Prabhas' multiple high-profile commitments, and so on but it would seem that team is inching towards the end of the production stage.

Vijay Kiragandur, the founder of Hombale Films, recently spoke to a popular media outlet and shared a few key details regarding the making of the film. Stating that Prabhas' fans are in for a massive treat, Kiragandur disclosed that the Telugu superstar will be seen in a macho avatar in Salaar which is going to be worth all the wait.

"Prabhas has dedicated a lot of time to Salaar and the audience will get to see him in a rather unique avatar. Be it his physique or his demeanour, Prabhas will look macho in the film, just as his fans wished. He has followed a very strict diet for the part. Many expected Prabhas to don a particular kind of role after Baahubali and Salaar will be that role - be it the hand-to-hand combat or the gun fights, there is so much to look forward to. I am sure his fans will love that and make Salaar a big hit," said Vijay Kiragandur.

In fact, Vijay Kiragandur adds, Shruti Haasan, too, will be seen in a rather intriguing role which involves a lot of action. "Our heroine (Shruti Haasan) has her own share of action sequences and she isn't there just to "add glamour". She has an important role. Sure, her portions will not feature the same kind of action that those of the male lead do but yes, she will be seen in some exciting action herself. We plan on revealing the rest of the film's cast later on," added Kiragandur.

So, how far into the completion is team Salaar? The Hombale head-honcho adds that 80-85% of the shoot is already done with and the team is now busy shooting the climax portion. And going by Prashanth Neel's previous film, the climax of Salaar is likely to feature some of the best and most exciting action. Fingers crossed!
