The news of Prashant Neel’s next for Hombale Films, Salaar being postponed from September 28 to an undisclosed date, has been doing the rounds for many days now and several movies across industries scrambled to take up this coveted spot. September 28 is currently jam-packed with multiple films vying for a slice of the box office. All these developments, though, happened without official word from makers Hombale Films, and the fact that the production house remained mum gave fans of lead actor Prabhas a smidgen of hope that the film may land in theatres on the promised date after all.
As of this morning, though, all such hope was dashed when Hombale Films finally decided to put an official statement out about why they had to take such a decision. Salaar, according to sources within the production house, has been delayed because of issues in post-production, the VFX, specifically. Fans were, obviously disappointed by this turn of events, but wondered why the announcement did not include on when the film could be expected after all. The statement from the production house promises that a new date will be out soon, but how soon will that be, they wondered. The September 28 date itself was announced way back in August last year. In fact, Salaar was initially meant to be an April 2022 release, a date that KGF: Chapter 2 then took up. Hombale’s next big film is expected to be Yuva Rajkumar’s Yuva in December. Will the banner move Salaar to that date after all?
Fans, meanwhile, remain hopeful that no matter when it comes to theatres, Salaar will be a great cinematic experience and that Prashant Neel will not disappoint them. “This will be a blockbuster whenever it releases,” was a common comment seen in response to the postponement announcement today.
