Prabhas joined hands with KGF fame director Prashanth Neel for his latest outing, Salaar. The highly anticipated project, which also stars Malayalam actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran in a pivotal role, hit the theatres in December 2023 after multiple delays. Despite receiving mixed reviews from the audiences and critics, Salaar performed quite well at the box office. The mass action film, which is currently streaming on Netflix, also created a major impact after its OTT release.

Salaar is now streaming in English too

As you may know, the Prabhas starrer had its OTT release on Netflix in January 2024, and has been streaming in four languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. However, the latest updates have confirmed that Salaar is currently streaming in English too. “Final voting begins.  Salaar is now available in English, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada on Netflix!” reads the official social media post of Netflix India, which announced the new update.

Salaar Hindi – What's reason behind the delay?

The Prabhas fans and Hindi cinema audiences, who have been eagerly waiting for the OTT release of the Salaar Hindi version, are clearly not pleased with the new update. A group of netizens have been criticizing both Netflix and the production banner Hombale Films, for the same. However, there is a valid reason behind the delay of the Hindi version of the Prashanth Neel directorial.

For the uninitiated, all Hindi films have a mandatory theatrical window of 90 days, unlike South films which have just 30 days. So, the Salaar Hindi version cannot be released on Netflix unless it completes the first 90 days of its release. However, it has been confirmed that the mass action film’s Hindi streaming rights are also bagged by the same platform. A major announcement on the same is expected to be out very soon.

Shruti Haasan appears as the female lead in Salaar, which stars a stellar star cast including Jagapathi Babu, Tinnu Anand, Bobby Simha, Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, Ramachandra Raju, MadhuGuruswamy, John Vijay, and others in the supporting roles. Ravi Basrur has composed songs and the original score. Bhuvan Gowda is the director of photography.
