We had told you the makers of Salaar would kickstart a new schedule on May 24. According to multiple sources, Shruti Haasan is in Hyderabad (where the team has erected massive sets) to complete the remaining portions of the film, starring Prabhas and Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran in titular roles. Shruti Haasan plays Aadya, a journalist in Salaar. In the past, she played an investigative journalist in Suriya's Si-3. The first look, featuring Prabhas, sporting a handlebar moustache, with his left hand on an assault rifle, was unveiled last year.

Directed by Prashanth Neel of KGF-fame, Salaar, an action drama, is bankrolled by Hombale Films. After a brief hiatus, Prabhas has returned to the sets, where an action sequence will be shot. The actor expressed his delight in Prithviraj being part of the film. He also hinted that Salaar will be a two-part project. “Already 35 per cent of the shoot has been completed. Prabhas is required to shed a few kilos and is looking to show his intense physical transformation. Maybe, this month, his fans can expect the teaser of Salaar,'' a source tells OTTplay.

Expected to release in 2023 in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi, Salaar features Jagapathi Babu, Madhu Guruswamy, and Easwari Rao in pivotal roles.

On the other hand, Prabhas has resumed the shoot of Project K, which has Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles. Billed as a sci-fi thriller, the film is directed by Nag Ashwin.

Additionally, Shruti Haasan is a part of Chiranjeevi's next. Directed by KS Ravindra (Bobby), the film marks Shruti's first collaboration with Chiranjeevi. Notably, the Telugu Megastar shares a great rapport with Shruti Haasan's father-actor Kamal Haasan. Both Chiru and Haasan worked together in late director K Balachander’s Idi Katha Kadu, the Telugu remake of Tamil hit, Avargal.
