Salaar teaser runtime, CBFC certification revealed; details inside

Earlier today (June 4), Hombale Films offered a peek into behind-the-scenes action of Salaar which has Prashanth Neel, the writer-director of the film, wielding the microphone with gusto. The video teaser was released as a special gesture to wish Neel a very happy birthday, with the makers endearingly terming him a 'madman' who is capable of presenting narratives 'in ways that hadn't been yet seen'. 

Salaar, which marks the third collaboration between the two entities, is arguably the most awaited release of the year for Indian movie lovers with Prabhas' fans, in particular, waiting with bated breath to see the mania be unleashed on the big screen. But since the film is nearly four months from releasing in theatres (September 28, 2023), fans' current desire is to see the teaser of the film but the wait in that regard, too, has been a long one. 

Recent reports have suggested that June 16, the day of the release of Adipurush, has been chosen as the opportune moment by Hombale Films to release the teaser of Salaar, potentially making a double-bonanza for fans and moviegoers. The team of Salaar is yet to confirm the association with Adipurush, but one ardently wishes this to come true.

While we cannot provide any confirmation regarding the Salaar teaser release, what we can still do is offer an interesting update related to the same teaser video. Turns out, Prashanth Neel & co. have already got the teaser of their upcoming mega venture certified by the Central Board of Film Certification, or CBFC and the board's official site, too, confirms this. When you look up the film on the site, you will find a few details marked against the 'Teaser of Salaar', including the censor certificate, certified length or duration and the name of the applicant.

Well, according to the CBFC, Salaar's teaser has been certified 'UA' and will be 1 minute and 31 seconds in length. Although the same table of details does not reveal the exact date of certification, a few social media posts inform that the teaser was certified way back in April 2022.

Salaar also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Shriya Reddy, Pramod and several others. Bhuvan Gowda, Shiva Kumar and Ravi Basrur, the three pillars that supported the KGF movies, return to handle cinematography, art direction and music respectively.
