A few days ago, Hombale Films co-founder Chaluve Gowda had told OTTplay that the on-ground promotions of Salaar: Ceasefire would begin after December 1, which is when director Prashant Neel would be free. Asked then if the much-awaited trailer would be out by then, he responded affirmatively, which had put the tentative date of the trailer at December 1. Soon after, he confirmed that the trailer would, indeed, be out on December 1, and added that an official announcement of the date and time would be made shortly by the production house. Earlier today, the social media handle of Hombale Films stated that the date and time of the Salaar: Ceasefire trailer would be announced on November 12.
The trailer of the Prabhas-led film will drop on December 1 at 19:19 pm, we are told. This, of course, is a far better time slot than the 5.12 am reveal of the teaser way back in July. With the trailer out on December 1, the team will have exactly three weeks to go on a promotional whirlwind. Meanwhile, earlier, when Salaar was meant to be a September 28 release, it had been reported that Hombale Films would look at having the trailer launch on home ground in Bengaluru rather than in Hyderabad, with promotional tours to major cities in the country to follow shortly after.
Salaar, which also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Shriya Reddy, among many others, has Prashant’s regular collaborators Bhuvan Gowda and Ravi Basrur on board as cinematographer and music composer, respectively. Although the film was initially thought to be a Telugu project only, the makers are set to release it in Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi as well. The film still has the shadow of remake rumours cast heavily on it, which will either be confirmed or denied with the trailer. Is Salaar a bigger and better version of Ugramm? Well, we will know on December 1.
