Salman Khan and Sunny Deol - both actors can pull off action films effortlessly. They have done several action movies, and some of them became blockbusters too, such as Gadar, Gadar 2, Dabangg, and more. In a new interview, director Puneet Issar revealed that Salman almost rejected his 2004 action film, Garv: Pride & Honour, and also shared that the reason has a Sunny Deol connection.
In a recent interview with the YouTube channel Digital Commentary, Puneet Issar shared that Salman Khan initially rejected Garv: Pride & Honour.
Puneet said, “Salman and I have been friends for a long time. We worked as actors for a long time. I had told him that I am writing something. He heard the story of Garv and he liked it very much but he told me, ‘Why have you come to me with this?’ He thought that the film was a Sunny Deol genre. Salman never used to do those kind of films."

Before action films, Salman was well known for his lover boy image in rom-com films and Puneet wanted to break that image. He said that he wanted Salman Khan to play a different kind of character in Garv.
He said, “I told Salman, ‘I want to break your image.’ He liked the film’s script and he agreed to do it. I feel actors are like wild horses, who will only allow those who knows how to ride a horse to sit on it. It was a pleasure working with Salman. Yaaron ka yaar hai woh. He totally surrendered to the role."
Salman Khan was recently seen in Sikandar. AR Murugadoss' action film failed to make an impression at the box office and the film received mixed responses from fans as well as critics. The film stars Salman Khan as Sanjay Rajkot/Sikandar. Inspired by his wife, he fights against corruption and injustice and becomes a beacon of hope for the underprivileged. The film tells the story of his transformation from an apathetic man to a selfless hero under the influence of his wife. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna in a key role.
