Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has moved to Bombay High Court to file a restraining order against his NRI neighbour Ketan Kakkar, who lives near his Panvel farmhouse, for allegedly posting 'communally biased' social media posts against the superstar on social media.

In his plea, the 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' star stated that Kakkar's social media posts against him are not only 'derogatory and defamatory' in tone, but also creates 'a communal divide'.

The aforementioned plea will be heard by on August 22 by a single judge bench of Bombay High Court, headed by Justice CV Bhadang, as per a report by Hindustan Times.

In March, the Sessions Court declined to grant an injunction order against the said neighbour in the defamation case slammed on him by Salman Khan.

The verdict, which was declared on march 23 of this year, described that Kakkar had recorded evidence such as complaints and show-cause notices against the star on allegations of encroachments by Salman Khan as a "whistle-blower" in the public interest.

Ketan Kakkar claimed that around 1995, he and his wife had gotten/bought a piece of land near Salman Khan's 100-acre farmhouse in panvel, with the intent of building a house, aashram, temple, to name a few. He then claimed that his plot of land was allegedly cancelled by the Maharashtra Forest Department as per Salman Khan's instructions, and the entry and exit points to his piece of land was also illegally claimed and blocked with a gate.

The NRI has also said in his court documents that he had built an eco-friendly Ganesha Temple, but couldn't gain access to it as the entrance was allegedly blocked and the temple was illegally taken over by the Khan family.

In his version of events, Salman noted that the complaintants are propagating communal violence and spreading Hindu-Muslim hatred through 'provocative, baseless and false statements' on the basis of religion, which, as salman Khan stated in his plea, are 'absolutely irrelevant and absurd'.
