Salman Khan's Hindi film career would be incomplete without a mention of Sooraj Barjatya. If Shah Rukh Khan was Aditya Chopra-Karan Johar's Raj/Rahul, Salman became the 'Prem' of India thanks to his various roles in Sooraj Barjatya's films. This iconic duo made 90s special, so if Barjatya were to make his OTT debut, a special shoutout from Salman was long-coming. The actor has, in fact, sent his warm wishes to the filmmaker. Here's what he penned...
Alongside a poster of Bada Naam Karenge, Salman penned his special note for Sooraj Barjatya. He wrote, "Bada Naam Karenge streaming now only on Sony LIV! Wishing Sooraj, Devaansh and the entire team all the best – this one’s going to be special!" The show is now available for streaming on SonyLIV via OTTplay Premium.

Barjatya's name is associated with Bada Naam Karenge but only as a producer (and it is his attempt to introduce his son to the market). The series is helmed by Gullak director Palash Vaswani, who has tried to bridge the gap between an essential Barjatya project and what a series featuring gen z would look like. As for Barjatya, he is yet to make his directorial debut with a web series.
Salman Khan continues being a theatrical face, but he surely has tapped into the OTT market too, just not in a web series so far. Salman first explored OTT by releasing his movie Radhe in both theatres and on OTT simultaneously. He then explored what the market looks like through the reality show he hosts - Bigg Boss. The makers have introduced the Bigg Boss OTT concept, and while Karan Johar launched it, Salman was a part of Bigg Boss OTT 2. Of course, in the format, that remains the most iconic season so far (there are only three seasons released yet). So, essentially, Salman is yet to make his acting debut in a web series. Now that his friend Shah Rukh Khan is already doing so with Ba***ds of Bollywood, it wouldn't be a surprise if Salman also signs a web series and announces it. But for now, the wait continues.
