Salman Khan’s Chulbul Pandey is gearing up for his thrilling endeavour in Dabangg 4 and this time, if all goes according to plan, The Great Indian Murder director Tigmanshu Dhulia could be leading the charge.

While the superstar had confirmed that the fourth movie in the hugely successful franchise is on, the makers had been on the hunt for the right script to take it forward. And now it seems that they have narrowed down the search with Tigmanshu in the loop.

A source told ETimes that the filmmaker had approached Salman with an idea a few months ago and he has been in discussions with the superstar. Salman is reportedly thrilled with how the screenplay has been shaping up. In fact, Tigmanshu could also end up helming the movie, according to the source.

Considering the director’s previous body of work that include Irrfan’s Paan Singh Tomar and Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, he seems to be the ideal fit to continue Chulbul Pandey’s rustic adventures. The first film in Dabangg was helmed by Abhinav Singh Kashyap, while Arbaaz Khan and Prabhu Deva donned the director’s hat for Dabangg 2 and 3, respectively. Salman was also credited for the story and screenplay of the third venture, which released in 2019 and was the lowest-grossing film in the franchise.

The upcoming movie is currently slated to go on floors by the end of 2022 after Salman completes his current commitments that include Tiger 3. He also has done an extended cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Chiranjeevi’s GodFather, which is the remake of Malayalam film Lucifer starring Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

Meanwhile, Salman’s next release will be Bhaijaan, which was previously titled Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali. The movie also has Pooja Hegde, Jassie Gill, Siddharth Nigam, Venkatesh and a rumoured cameo by Telugu superstar Ram Charan.
