Salman Khan's film Sikandar is almost in profit even before the movie releases in theatres. The film has recovered 80 percent of its budget days before its theatrical release. The movie is made on a budget of Rs. 200 crore, and it has already minted Rs. 165 crore, thus leaving only extra earnings from this point. Earning Rs. 165 crore, Sikandar has recovered 80 percent of its budget cost already. As per Pinkvilla, the film will earn between Rs. 85 crore-100 crore in digital rights after it has released in theatres. The movie will be out on Netflix post its theatrical release, and the digital rights sale will vary depending on the Sikandar Box Office. The satellite rights for Sikandar are sold at Rs. 50 crore and the music rights are sold at Rs. 30 crore. This makes the recovery Rs. 165 crore, which is 80 percent of the budget.
Sikandar is made on a budget of Rs. 200 crore. The production cost of the film is Rs. 180 crore, while the additional cost for the movie is Rs. 20 crore, thus taking the budget to Rs. 200 crore.
Sikandar’s first song, Zohra Jabeen, had been released more recently. The track, featuring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, has been taking over the internet. The second song, now, is expected to be out on Holi.
Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Prateik Babbar, Sharman Joshi and Sathyaraj apart from Salman-Rashmika. The movie is scheduled for Eid release. Breaking the norm, Sikandar will release in theatres on Sunday, March 30, instead of Friday, March 28. This is the first time in his entire movie career that Salman has taken the step and he has a reason to do so. The actor is ensuring that his upcoming movie’s release is closer to Eid. It is the month of Ramadan and Eid falls on March 31 this year. Sikandar is bankrolled by Salman Khan’s producer-friend Sajid Nadiadwala, who had helmed the actor in Kick.
