What is Salt City about?

The plot revolves around the dysfunctional Bajpai family living in Mumbai. The story explores their complex relationships, which once used to be near perfect.

Cast and their characters in Salt City

Piyush Mishra plays Harish Bajpai, the man who can go any length to protect his family, but has secrets of own. In the trailer, he is seen saying that he had a happy family once indicating that things went south as the children grew up. Divyendu Sharma plays youngest son, who thinks that he is looked down upon by his successful older brothers. This has turned him into a sort of a nihilist.

Navni Parihar plays the mother, who dotes on the family but now constantly worries about her children. In the beginning of the trailer, we hear her saying, 'When the children are small, everyone used to get into the house, now either the house has become too small or the children have grown', giving us a picture of the family. Gauahar Khan plays Gunjan, a beauty with brains who can go to any extent to get what she desires. Her character is seen aching for a divorce so that she can move on with her life. Towards the end of the trailer, we hear how Mumbai is a city that adds a pinch of salt to everything. The rest of the star cast includes Eisha Chopra, Jitin Gulati, Manish Anand, Pranay Pachauri and Monica Choudhary, among others. The plot delves into the real and complex issues in an upper middle class Indian family and their myriad emotions.
