Salt City trailer: Divyendu, Gauahar Khan’s upcoming Sony LIV series is about a dysfunctional family in Mumbai

Divyendu Sharma and Gauahar Khan are set to be seen in Sony LIV’s upcoming series titled Salt City, the trailer of which has now been unveiled. This clip, also featuring Piyush Mishra in the lead role, is about taking things with a pinch of salt. It deals with a dysfunctional family at the core but generalizes the concept of how there is a pinch of salt in everything in life.

This clip talks about the growing up years and how they affect the innocence of children. We see the changing generation and the much-spoken-about generation gap.

Divyendu plays the role of the youngest son of the family. He believes that his family thinks he’s a dimwit. Very clearly, his character has developed a hatred of sorts for everything that appears optimistic.

Meanwhile, Gauahar Khan’s character deals with moving on in life. She finds her happy space and goes for it.

Divyendu’s character is seen getting arrested, while his two older brothers are successful in life. He gets treated badly and thus, states exactly how he feels.

‘Sometimes family can become your weakness,’ flashes on the screen as you see Piyush Mishra talking about how everything in his life has become rusted. He misses his children and the happy family that once was.

The actor’s character also talks about the cutthroat competition which is the pulse of Mumbai. In the same breath, he reveals that people go through this competition just to get some limelight in life.

‘Mumbai: It adds salt to everything,’ is the final nail in the coffin for this trailer. While the message is very cryptic, it sure appears that director Rishabh Sahay wants to talk about his city and how a pinch of salt automatically adds up in everything in life.

Also starring Navni Parihar, Nivedita Bhattacharya, Eisha Chopra, Manish Anand, Pranay Pachauri, Monica Chaudhary and Jitin Gulati, Salt City is slated to release on Sony LIV. The show will start streaming from June 16.
