Dulquer Salmaan will make an appearance as the first-time cop on the small screens. The makers of his much-awaited film, Salute have opted to skip theatrical release and opt for OTT instead.
They announced on Monday that crime thriller will have its world premiere on streaming platform SonyLIV on March 18. Directed by Rosshan Andrrews, the film also stars Diana Penty, Manoj K Jayan, Alencier Ley Lopez, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, and Saniya Iyappan, among others. The OTT giant shared the trailer of the film and announced the big news on its official social media pages. The post reads, “SonyLIV and Wayfarer films are glad to come together to bring you Dulquer Salman’s #Salute directed by Roshan Andrews and written by Bobby-Sanjay. #SaluteOnSonyLIV #Salute #Dulquer #DQ #SonyLIV.”

The Malayalam film was earlier scheduled to release in theatres on January 14. It was then postponed due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in the country. The film is produced by Salmaan himself under the banner of his production house, Wayfarer Films.
Meanwhile, Salmaan was last seen in the recent Tamil romantic-comedy, Hey Sinamika, which also features Aditi Rao Hydari and Kajal Aggarwal. The film is currently running in theatres.
