As we approach the last month of the year, December is packed with Bollywood releases, including big ones. Kicking off the month on the first day is Vicky Kaushal starrer "Sam Bahadur," a biographical drama that has become a hot topic of discussion in recent weeks.

Release Date:

The Meghna Gulzar directorial is set for a December 1, 2023, release. Starring Vicky Kaushal as Sam Manekshaw, the film marks Meghna Gulzar's return to the big screen after her 2020 release, "Chhapaak."

Plot:

Set in the early 1970s against the backdrop of the Indo-Pakistan war, "Sam Bahadur" explores the life of the legendary Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. The film depicts his rise to leading the Indian army and achieving victory in the liberation of Bangladesh. The movie delves into delicate aspects of history and features well-known political leaders. It is written by Bhavani Iyer and Shantanu Shrivastava in collaboration with Meghna Gulzar.

Cast:

The film features a compelling cast, with Vicky Kaushal portraying Sam Manekshaw, Sanya Malhotra as his wife Siloo Manekshaw, Fatima Sana Shaikh as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Neeraj Kabi as Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub as Yahya Khan, and Edward Sonnenblick as Lord Mountbatten.
