Sam Bahadur, featuring Vicky Kaushal, hit the big screen on December 1. The Meghna Gulzar directorial clashed with Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal at the box office. Despite a box office clash, Sam Bahadur is enjoying a steady run in cinemas. While the film was off to a slow start, it gained momentum over the next two days.

On day 3 at the box office, the Vicky Kaushal starrer minted around ₹10.30 crore. According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Sam Bahadur witnessed a slight jump.

Sam Bahadur opened to ₹6.25 crore at the box office. It was followed by a collection of ₹9 crore on day two. And on day three, the film earned around ₹10.30 crore. Considering the same, the BO collection of Sam Bahadur now stands at ₹25.55 crore.

Vicky Kaushal in Sam Bahadur

Sam Bahadur marked Vicky's reunion with filmmaker Meghna Gulzar after Raazi (2018). In this biographical war drama, the actor played the role of Sam Manekshaw. He was India's first Field Marshal. He was the Chief of army staff of the Indian Army during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war.

Meanwhile, OTTplay's review of Sam Bahadur read, "What lifts Sam Bahadur a bit is the bravery shown by Meghna and the team in not hiding behind the bush in showing Sam Manekshaw’s habit of calling people ‘Sweety’, he even called then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi sweetie once. Or the dynamic between him and Gandhi and how even Siloo (Sam’s wife) was jealous and angry about PM’s fondness towards Manekshaw."

Helmed by Meghna Gulzar, Sam Bahadur also featured Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh. While Sanya was seen as Silloo Manekshaw, Fatima essayed the role of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Apart from them, Govind Namdev, Edward Sonnenblick, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub formed an integral part of the film.
