Samantha Ruth Prabhu bags Downtown Abbey director's upcoming project titled Arrangements of Love

Samantha Ruth Prabhu is set to take the international route. The actor has bagged a film titled The Arrangements of Love, directed by BAFTA nominee Philip John. The filmmaker is known for directing a few episodes of the hit British series Downtown Abbey. The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by the Indian author Timeri N. Murari and was published in 2004. 

Sharing her excitement, Samantha posted a photo of herself posing with John and wrote, "A whole new world... I last auditioned in 2009 for Ye Maya Chesave. 12 years later, and auditioning again, I felt the very same nervousness... I guess it’s not everyday you get to audition for a BAFTA award-winning, critically acclaimed, director of your most favourite series, Downton Abbey. I'm jumping for joy that you picked me, sir. Philip John. Thank you, @sunitha.tati @gurufilms1 for the opportunity. I can't wait to start this exciting journey!!! "

As per Variety, The Arrangements of Love follows a Welsh-Indian man on an unplanned vacation to his hometown to track down his estranged father. Samantha plays a strong-willed and witty 27-year-old who operates a detective firm and becomes involved in the investigation. She is a progressive bisexual Tamil woman with ultra-traditional parents who desire an arranged marriage for her. She wants to be able to make her own life decisions as much as she wants to satisfy her parents.

Meanwhile, Samantha told the international publication that a whole new world opens up for her as she begins her journey with Arrangements of Love, which has such an appealing and intimate story. 

The actor is thrilled to be working with John, whose projects she has been following for years as a huge fan of Downton Abbey. Samantha is looking forward to working with Sunitha again and hopes for even more success than they had with Oh! Baby. 

The Family Man 2 actor further shared that it will be both a challenge and a chance for her to play such a nuanced character.
