The Censor Board of Film Certification cleared directors Hari Shankar and Harish Narayan's film Yashoda, featuring Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead, for release with a U/A certificate. According to reports, the film lasts 135 minutes.

The director duo was known for helming Orr Eravu, Ambuli, Aaah and Jambulingam. Before establishing himself in the film industry by producing short films and corporate videos, Harish worked in the IT industry. When he first met Harish, Hari was a freelance editor and an assistant director. They chose to work together after realising they had a love of movies. “We have a lot of similarities in the way we see movies. We argue as much as we agree,” they were quoted as saying, in an interview.

Scheduled to hit the big screens, Yashoda will be out on November 11, in five languages; Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. This is the Family Man actor's second release of 2022, after Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal.

Yashoda is bankrolled by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad's Sridevi Movies banner. “We haven't compromised on the technical and production values. With a lavish budget, we wrapped the shoot in 100 days. Audiences who love new-age cinema will be thrilled to watch our film,” Prasad said in a statement.

Yashoda additionally features Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar, Sampath Raj, Unni Mukundan, Murali Sharma, Rao Ramesh, Shatru, Madhurima, Kalpika Ganesh, Divya Sripada and Priyanka Sharma, in important roles. The technical team includes music director Mani Sharma, cinematographer M Sukumar, editor Marthand K Venkatesh, lyricist Ramajogaiah Sastry and dialogue writers Pulagam Chinnarayana and Challa Bhagyalakshmi.

Recently, the makers of Yashoda released behind-the-scenes footage, where Samantha was seen executing difficult action sequences without the use of a body double.

Stunt director Yannick Ben was quoted as saying, “Samantha is consistently committed. As action directors, we seek someone prepared to offer their all for the greater good. To get the most out of the action, we need an actor who is fully committed and giving of themselves.”
