Actor Samuthirakani and comedian Yogi Babu are coming together for NA Rajendra Chakravarthi’s directorial debut titled Yavarum Vallavare. The village drama is touted to be based on true events.
The film tells the story of events that unfold in a village from 6 pm to 6 am. Talking about the film with The New Indian Express, the director was quoted saying, “The real-life person that inspired Samuthirakani’s character has a strong resemblance to him and so, I felt it was the right casting.”
It is understood that Yogi Babu will play a comic role in the movie which tells the story of people who live across five villages. The film which was shot across Thiruverkadu, Periyapalayam, Trichy, Perambalur and Thittakud is currently in post-production.
Samuthirakani will be playing the lead role in the film. The actor was last seen in Vellai Yaanai, a drama about an agrarian community directed by Subramanium Siva. The busy actor is currently working on S.S Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR, Andhagan and Indian 2.
Yavarum Vallavare will also star Riythvika, who was the winner of season two of the Tamil Bigg Boss. She will be a part of the Netflix anthology series Navarasa. Riythvika is most notably known for her role as Mary in the 2014 political drama Madras directed by Pa Ranjith.
The film produced by Prabhu Thilak will also feature Ramesh Thilak, Deva Darshini and Ilavarasu among others.
