Valli Yaanai, directed by Subramaniam Siva is set to release directly on OTT via Sun Nxt. The director is known for directing Thiruda Thirudi and Sedan.
Valli Yaanai stars Samuthirakani and Athmiya in the lead roles. The film will release on Sun TV (Tamil Television Channel) and then make its way to the channel’s online streaming platform, Sun Nxt. An official announcement confirming the date is expected to be out soon. The movie will also feature Yogi Babu, SS Stanley, Ramadoss, Bava Chellathurai and Saranya Ravichandran in pivotal roles.
The rural drama film is produced by Vinod Kumar under the banner of Mini Studio. Santhosh Narayanan has composed the music and R Jagadeesan handled the cinematography for the movie. As per reports, filming and post production work for the movie is completed and now the filmmakers are gearing up for its release.
Many Tamil movies are already skipping theatrical release because of the uncertain situation caused by the pandemic. Movies like Aelay and Mandela have already chosen to premiere directly on Vijay TV. Similarly, Vellai Yaanai will be released on Sun TV and then on their online streaming platform, Sun Nxt.
The film will be based on issues related to agriculture. It talks about the issues faced by farmers.
Samuthirakani, who plays the lead role in the movie, is well known for his roles in several Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films including Subramaniapuram (2009), Easan (2010), Saattai (2012) Velaiyilla Pattathari (2014), Oppam (2016) and Krack (2021). He has also won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2016 for his role in Visaranai.
