Sanam Teri Kasam 2: Harshvardhan Rane denies being part of sequel following Mawra Hocane's 'cowardly' comment on Operation Sindoor

Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor to destroy Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir's terrorist camps after the cruel terror attack in Pahalgam. Following the Operation Sindoor, Pakistani actors, including Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, Mawra Hocane, and others, commented against India's action and called it 'cowardly' and 'shameful.' After this, Harshvardhan Rane directly denied working in the Sanam Teri Kasam sequel if the previous cast returns. Notably, Sanam Teri Kasam starred Mawra Hocane in the female lead.

Harshvardhan Rane denies Sanam Teri Kasam 2 with Mawra Hocane

Following Mawra Hocane's hateful comment against India's Operation Sindoor, Harshvardhan Rane took to his Instagram Story and declared that he will not be doing Sanam Teri Kasam 2 if the previous cast returns. 

He wrote, "While I am grateful for the experience however as things stand, and after reading the direct comments made about my country, I have made a decision to respectfully decline to be a part of 'Sanam Teri Kasam' part 2 if there is any possibility of the previous cast being repeated."

He also shared a screenshot of a news article mentioning Mawra’s comments about India’s Operation Sindoor. 

“I respect all artists and humans of this country, that country, Kenya and even Mars, but this kind of derogatory remarks about my country by anyone is unpardonable."

He wrote that he is okay with losing out on followers on Instagram, but won’t allow anyone to walk over his pride and upbringing. "Standing by your country is good, but disrespectful, hate remarks about other country is not," Rane added.

What did Mawra Hocane comment?

Criticizing India's Operation Sindoor, Mawra wrote on social media, “Strongly condemn India’s cowardly attack on Pakistan… Innocent civilians have lost their lives. May Allah protect us all… may sense prevail. Ya Allah ho Ya Hafizo.” She ended the statement with the hashtag #PakistanZindabad."

Meanwhile, Sanam Teri Kasam received its due love after the film was re-released in 2025. The film, which was originally released in 2016, follows the love story of Saraswati and Inder Parihaar. They belong to different backgrounds and face a tragic event that changes their lives forever.
