Sanam Teri Kasam Re-release Box Office Day 1 Estimates: The trend of re-releasing films from the past has proven to be a big boon for movies that didn’t find an audience during their initial release but now have a massive fanbase. Films like Laila Majnu and the classic Tumbbad had poor box office runs originally but earned well upon their 2024 re-release. Now, another movie looking to follow the same trajectory is the Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane starrer Sanam Teri Kasam, which hits the big screen today. If estimates hold, it is set to be the biggest Hindi opener of the week.
Even with two fresh releases—Badass Ravi Kumar and Loveyapa—hitting theaters on the same day as Sanam Teri Kasam, the Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao directorial seems to have an upper hand. Despite being a re-release, its advance booking saw 110.7K tickets sold.
As per the latest estimates, Sanam Teri Kasam is expected to earn around Rs 4 crore on its re-release opening day. Meanwhile, bookings remain strong, hinting at an impressive opening weekend. When originally released in 2016, the film earned Rs 8.03 crore lifetime on a Rs 19 crore budget, making it a flop. The opening day collection was only Rs 1.12 crore. If the re-release achieves the projected numbers, it will be a massive turnaround.

Harshvardhan Rane spoke to TOI about the re-release, saying, "I hope it does what it didn’t do earlier. What should I feel? Everyone kept asking me to bring this film back. The only thing I remember is that we all expected the film to do much better than it did. That void pushed me to request its re-release. It’s been nine years. Every year, people lose faith, but mine only increases."
He also expressed gratitude for the re-release trend, adding, "Even after parents get divorced, they sometimes remarry. As a child, I am very happy with this marriage. I support remarriages and re-releases." Harshvardhan hopes the film finally gets the recognition it missed the first time, similar to Tumbbad and Laila Majnu. "If I was good at predictions, I would have done it nine years ago. I just hope this happens."
Sanam Teri Kasam re-released in theaters on February 7, 2025. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more updates from the world of streaming and films.
