Sandipta Sen is back on the floors with Sudeshna Roy Abhijit Guha’s Aapish

Sandipta Sen, who started her career with TV and later became a dependable face on OTT, debuted on the big screen with The Eken: Ruddhaswas Rajasthan. Now she is ready for yet another film, Aapish. Directed by filmmaker duo Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha, the film is based on Bani Basu’s Novel and also features Sudipta Chakraborty.

Sandipta tied the knot in December last year with Hoichoi CEO Soumya Mukherjee. She was busy promoting her web series, Bodhon 2. The couple went for a brief honeymoon in North Bengal. Now she is back with her second feature film. 

Talking about her work and marriage, Sandipta told Anandabazar Online, “Soumya lost his parents. It is just us who live in the house. There has never been that pressure of responsibility. I used to go to work from my house and now I am going to work from his house. Nothing has changed much.”

Aapish delves into the characters of two women. The character that Sandipta is playing is called Jayiyta Sanyal. She is a working woman and she juggles between home and office. Jayita finds similarities between her journey and the journey of her domestic help. National Award winning actress Sudipta will be playing the character of the domestic help. How these two characters converge despite the differences in their social economic standing is the crux of the story. The shooting was going on for a while and it is in its last leg.
