Sandipta Sen to make her Tollywood debut in Mainak Bhaumik’s Ekannoborti

Tollywood actress Sandipta Sen is currently basking in the glory of her recent success in Anjan Dutt’s Murder in the Hills. She is now preparing to make her entry into the Bengali film industry with Mainak Bhaumik’s Ekannoborti. She started shooting for the film on July 8, and is presently busy with its production.

A light-hearted movie based on familial bonds, Ekannoborti is the story of a joint Banerjee household that disintegrated into small isolated units over time. However, when members reunite to celebrate the festivities of Durga Puja, the silent bonedi bari becomes alive filling everyone’s heart with happiness and festive chaos.

Sandipta has been roped in to play herself in the movie. Her character’s name is Sandipta Sen, a television actress who is working in a web series. She emphasised how Durga Puja plays a key role in the narrative, reminding us the joys of having a barir puja, a concept that is slowly becoming extinct. She also expressed her delight at getting the opportunity to work with Mainak in her debut film, as she finds his work contemporary.

An emotional family drama, Ekannoborti would aim to remind viewers of the true family spirit of positivity in these turbulent times. The movie would also star stellar artistes including Aparajita Addhya, Saurasheni Maitra, Aloknanda Roy, Ananya Sen and others.
