Tamil: Thadayam
The year is 1996, when a spate of murders is reported along the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh border, with the symbolic wedding jewellery of the victims stolen. Though deemed to be incompetent, SI Adhiyamaan swings into action to stop the heinous murders. Tamil actor Samuthirakani marks his digital debut with Thadayam.
Malayalam: Secret Stories Roslin
A teenager troubled by nightmares of a green-eyed stalker is at the centre of this latest Malayalam thriller series. But what if he turns up for real? Her parents, John and Shobha, though sympathetic, are not convinced by her tales. Sanjana Dipu plays the titular character, while Vineeth and Meena are her parents. The series has an interesting idea and boasts of some solid performances.
Kannada: Neeli Hakki
A young boy who lives near a forest and is in awe of nature leads this award-winning Kannada movie. But the little boy’s shattered when his father decides that it is better for the family to move to the city and seek a better life. Ganesh Hegde marked his directorial debut with the film, which won much love and accolades during its festival run. The film skipped a theatrical release and has now dropped on streaming.
Telugu: Sri Chidambaram Garu
The film revolves around a youth who hides behind a pair of glasses, so that the world does not see his squint eyes. He is further disappointed when he assumes that the girl of his dreams turned him down because of this condition. A simplistic village drama, the Vamsi Tummala-starrer did not work at the box office but deserves to be watched for its honest tale
Punjabi: Ikk Kudi
Young woman Simi is set for an arranged marriage but suspects her fiance is hiding something and sets out to find the truth, leading to hilarious consequences. The Punjabi romantic-comedy is directed by Amarjit Singh Saron. Popular actress Shehnaaz Gill leads the film, which promises to be a fun watch.
