Sangeetha Bhat returns to Kannada cinema with Roopantara, opposite Kishore

Back in 2019, Kannada actress Sangeetha Bhat had bid adieu to cinema, intent on building a new life with her husband Sudarshan Rangaprasad, who was posted in Germany at the time. A trip to India in early 2020, around the time the pandemic broke out, though, ensured that the couple had to stay put here. They spent a good part of the pandemic in Chennai, before being able to move back to Bengaluru and with a return to Germany unlikely for a while, Sangeetha has plunged headlong to do what she does best – acting.

The Eradane Sala and Kapata Nataka Patradhari actress had a release in 2020 with Aadyaa, but this year should see her back onscreen in multiple films. Last evening, Sangeetha took to social media to announce her return to cinema. “With this post, I’m excited to announce my long awaited comeback to films. it’s been a while. Acting has always been my first love, staying away from it was the toughest part of my life. You all have been very kind and supportive of my work previously. I strongly believe that you will have your best wishes and support with me like always. Sharing few pictures from the current film I’m part of. Hope you will show love and support like always. Very grateful to the team,” she wrote along with images of her and Kishore from the film.

Sangeetha met Sudarshan on the set of Preeti Geeti Ityadi, in which the techie, who dabbles with Kannada standup comedy, theatre and films, played her ex-boyfriend.
