Sanjay Dutt likely to play the baddie in Thalapathy 67?

Sanjay Dutt, who's basking in the success of KGF2, is likely to be cast, opposite Vijay, in Thalapathy 67. Considering that the makers are planning to make this a pan-Indian film, we hear Sanjay Dutt is on the priority list to play the role of a powerful antagonist. An official confirmation is awaited; although we are not sure if team Thalapathy 67 had approached the Bollywood actor for the same. "It is too early to talk about it. But for now, the film will go on the floors on October 3. Eventually, the complete set of cast and crew will be announced by the producers soon," tells a source to OTTplay.

Thalapathy 67 will be produced by Lalit Kumar's Seven Screen Studio and Xavier Britto. (Both of them had produced Vijay's Master).

Vijay, whose latest release was Beast, is currently shooting for Thalapathy 66, with director Vamshi Paidipally, who directed Nagarjuna and Karthi in Thozha.

Also, the grapevine has it that Yuvan Shankar Raja will likely be the music director of Thalapathy 67. Yuvan Shankar Raja and Vijay previously worked in the 2003 film Pudhiya Geethai. During a social media interaction, Yuvan said Vijay inspires him a lot and that he is eager to work with him.

OTTplay had also told you the script of Thalapathy 67 was originally written for Rajinikanth.

Vijay also has an upcoming film with Atlee, which is tentatively titled, Thalapathy 68. Both Atlee and Vijay are now held up with their respective projects. It is expected that this one will be announced officially in 2023.

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has Vikram, up for the release, starring Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil, in lead roles. The film will hit the screens on June 3. Next, Lokesh had announced a sequel to Kaithi with Karthi but it is not yet known when they are planning to begin the shoot.
