Sankranthi 2024: Here are the highly anticipated Telugu releases

Sankranti is one of the biggest seasons for big Telugu films to release. For over two decades, big Telugu films released between January 12 and 15 every year, end up as massive hits. In the last few years, star heroes have released their films on the eve of Sankranthi without any fear of competition. 

Films like Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapuramlo and Sarileru Neekevvaru featuring Mahesh Babu were released on January 11, and 12, 2020 respectively, and ended as huge hits. In 2023, things have gone to the next level as five biggies are lined up for release in January. Well, let us look at the list of films releasing this Sankranthi 2024.

Hanu Man

Release Date: January 12, 2024

First in line is Prashanth Varma's Hanu Man. A superhero film, Hanu Man stars Teja Sajja as the main lead. The film which has been postponed already twice has locked Sankranti 2024. When compared to other biggies coming out this Sankranthi 2024, Hanu Man is a smaller film in terms of budget and star cast. A brave decision by the makers to release their film during the festive season, we need to see how Hanu Man fares at the box office.

Guntur Kaaram

Release Date: January 12, 2024

Along with Hanu Man, yet another biggie set for a January 12, 2024 release is Guntur Kaaram. It is undoubtedly the biggest film set to release this Sankranthi 2024. As Mahesh Babu has teamed up with star director Triviram Srinivas, the buzz for this film is massive. All the other Sankranthi releases will find it tough to withstand this family drama at the box office. Sreeleela and Meenakshi Chaudhary play the female leads.

Saindhav

Release date: January 13, 2024

On the 13th of January, Venkatesh brings his action drama, Saindhav to the theatres. The film is directed by Sailesh Kolanu and showcases Venkatesh in a never-before-seen avatar. Nawazuddin Siddique makes his Telugu debut with this film which is an action thriller. Thanks to the promos, Saindhav has created a solid buzz already.

Naa Saami Ranga

Release Date: January 2024

Last but not least, Akkineni Nagarjuna is also gearing up for the release of this new film Naa Saami Ranga. The film is busy with its shoot and is being planned as a Sankranthi release. Nagarjuna is yet to lock the release date but the film will surely release somewhere between January 12 to 15, 2024. A debutante director Binni is directing this film which is a mass drama.

Apart from all the films revealed above, there will be multiple low-budget films that will be released during the Sankranthi 2024 festive season. One of the reasons for Sankranthi 2024 to be packed is Salaar suddenly announcing its release date to December 22, 2023. 

Earlier, this date was blocked by films like Hi Nanna, and Saindhav. As the Prabhas starrer came in from nowhere, all these films had to change their dates and have now locked Sankranthi 2024 as their release. Well, we need to see which will stick to its release date or back out from the race.
