The shooting of director Prashant Raj's upcoming comedy entertainer, featuring actor Santhanam in the lead, has been wrapped up, its makers have announced.

Fortune Films, the firm producing the yet-to-be-titled project, took to Twitter to make the announcement. Tentatively titled Santa 15, this one features actresses Tanya Hope and Ragini Dwivedi as the female leads.

On Twitter, Santhanam had written, "It was a super fun journey with director Prashant Raj", hinting at more updates to follow soon.

This film, said to be the remake of Zoom (directed by Prashant), went on floors in April 2022. Billed as a romantic comedy, this is the director's debut project in Tamil, and he has made films in Kannada like Love Guru, Gaana Bajana, and Orange.

Known for making fun and colourful films, Prashant, in an interview told Cinema Express, “The way love is depicted on screen has evolved over the years. Gone are the days when letters were sent to confess romantic feelings. Today, love happens on WhatsApp or Facebook and selfies communicate the matters of the heart."

Speaking about his transformation from a comedian into a hero, Santhanam said he has been in the industry for a long time now. "The truth is, I got bored of playing the funny sidekick. I thought it would be unfair to expect the audience to accept something I’d become jaded with."

Santhanam added he loves to take calculated risks. "But if you don’t take such risks, monotony sets in. Without really trying new things, I’d not know my creative limits. It is better to take such chances while my body is still willing."

The actor was lucky to have been spotted by Simbu, who cast him in Manmadhan. "I owe him everything, and the best way to thank him is to let my work do the talking," Santhanam added.
