Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dassani starrer Meenakshi Sundareshwar gets festive release date on Netflix

The film is produced by Karan Johar's home banner Dharmatic.

Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dassani have teamed up for the first time in a Netflix original film Meenakshi Sundareshwar. The actors play the titular roles of a couple who are in a long-distance marriage. After teasing with stills and a romantic song, Netflix has finally announced the streaming date of Meenakshi Sundareshwar. Yes, the film is set to be a Diwali release on the OTT platform that is, November 5, 2021.

Netflix India shared a cute poster featuring Sanya and Abhimanyu in each other's arms. The poster is captioned as "Distance is only a word when it comes to these two. Get ready with popcorn as @sanyamalhotra_ and @abhimanyud set relationship goals. #MeenakshiSundareshwar is coming to Netflix on November 5. @karanjohar @apoorva1972 @somenmishra @vivek.sonni @dharmaticent."

Netflix has described the premise of the romantic film as "Forced to live apart due to a unique job prospect, two newlyweds face the hasses, hiccups and hilarity that arise from their long-distance marriage."

Meenakshi Sundareshwar is directed by Vivek Soni and he co-wrote the screenplay with Aarsh Vora. Karan Johar's OTT wing Dharmatic has produced the film for Netflix. 

Meanwhile, the makers had dropped a love ballad titled Tu Yahin Hai featuring Sanya and Abhimanyu during the Netflix TUDUM global event. The song is crooned by Abhay Jodhpurkar and Madhushree Bhattacharya. Justin Prabhakaran has composed the music while Raj Shekhar has penned the lyrics.

Meenakshi Sundareshwar marks Sanya's third Netflix outing after Ludo and Pagglait. While this is Abhimanyu's second film after his debut outing Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota which was released in 2018. The actor has a lot of other films in his kitty including Nikamma co-starring Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Shirley Setia. He will also be seen opposite Mrunal Thakur in Aankh Micholi

The makers of Meenakshi Sundareshwar is likely to drop the teaser trailer for the film soon.
