Sanya Malhotra is gearing up for the release of her next film, HIT - The First Case. The thriller will see the actress reunite with her Ludo co-star Rajkummar Rao. Malhotra recently opened up about working with Rao on her upcoming film.
In conversation with news agency IANS, the actress spoke of how ‘collaborative’ the whole filming experience becomes when working alongside actors such as Rao. Malhotra said that one just had to follow the other’s lead in such cases, and react to whatever they’re doing as best as possible.
“I never felt anything was too challenging or difficult for me and also the credit has to go to Rajkummar Rao”, she said. Calling Rao a good actor and a brilliant co-star, Malhotra said that it did not feel like she was acting out a scene or reciting dialogues when she shared the screen with Rao. Acting out a scene with Rao felt ‘natural’ and ‘conversational’, she said.
The upcoming film revolves around the story of a police officer suffering from PTSD, who tries to trace the whereabouts of a missing woman. The film is the Hindi remake of the 2020 Telugu film of the same name, which starred Vishwak Sen. Sailesh Kolanu has helmed both the original film and the Hindi remake. Kolanu has also directed the sequel to the Telugu film, titled HIT: The Second Case and stars Adivi Sesh.
HIT: The First Case will be released in theatres on July 15, 2022. Taapsee Pannu’s Shabaash Mithu and Ram Gopal Varma’s Ladki are the other films slated for release that day as well.
The upcoming film will mark Malhotra’s first big screen release in almost 3 years. She was last seen in Love Hostel, opposite Vikrant Massey and Bobby Deol. The film had a digital release on ZEE5. The actress is currently working on Atlee’s Bollywood debut Jawan, which stars Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara.
