It would be interesting to see how actor-filmmaker Rakshit Shetty goes about with the streaming rights of his next production, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello . The Hemanth M Rao directorial is a two-part film, with the instalments releasing only 7 weeks apart on September 1 and October 20, respectively. With his last production that he also starred in, 777 Charlie, the Kannada version dropped on OTT (Voot Select/JioCinema) 50 days after its theatrical release, while the other language versions went to another platform – Amazon Prime Video – albeit on rental only.

According to sources, Rakshit has already sold the post-theatrical streaming rights of Sapta Sagaradaache Ello, but how will the OTT release be timed? If he follows the 777 Charlie format, Side A, as the first part is called, will drop just in time for Side B, so, even if some sections of audiences do not catch the first one in theatres, they might be enticed to give Side B a dekko on the big screen. Alternatively, he could release both parts together after Side B’s theatrical run. The film, we hear, has gone to Amazon Prime Video, which also has Rakshit’s Avane Srimannarayana, as well as Hemanth’s earlier Kavaludaari.

Sapta Sagaradaache is Rakshit’s second collaboration with Hemanth, after the 2016 Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu. After the release, the actor-filmmaker has said that he is looking at focusing on his own directorials , something he is returning to after nearly a decade. He starts off with Richard Anthony, which is being produced by Hombale Films. This is a film that will serve as a prequel and sequel to the events of his earlier Ulidavaru Kandante. Rakshit had earlier tweeted that he is looking at making Punyakoti in two parts, as well as Midway to Moksha as part of his plan for the foreseeable future. If and when Midway to Moksha happens, it will see the RRR of Kannada cinema, Rakshit, Raj and Rishab, coming together onscreen.
