It’s been a few weeks since filmmaker Hemanth M Rao and Rakshit Shetty, the leading man of his next, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello (SSE), announced that their latest collaboration would be released in two parts, with the first one set to be in theatres on September 1. The release date of SSE part 1, which the team has called Side A, comes, only a week after Rakshit’s good pal, actor-filmmaker Raj B Shetty’s Toby hits theatres.

Raj had announced August 25 as his release date much before Hemanth and Rakshit revealed their plans. At the time, it was thought that SSE could be in theatres in late July, but for reasons best known to the team, it was pushed with the final dates September 1 and October 20. Raj has been quoted as saying that when he fixed August 25 for Toby, Rakshit’s plan was not a near-clash. In fact, even now, Raj does not look at the one-week gap between the films as competition and says that since both belong to vastly different genres, they will find their own audiences and his hope was for both to be successful at the box office.

Since this announcement, though, there’s not been a peep from Hemanth or Rakshit about SSE, while Raj is on full-fledged promotion mode. There’ve already been two poster reveals for his character, and the team just had its first public event, while Raj has been doing countless interviews already.

This, of course, has got netizens wondering why team Sapta Sagaradaache Ello has not begun promotions, now that part 1 is exactly two months away. For quite a while, Hemanth’s film has been hailed as one of the most awaited movies of the year and Kannada film aficionados have often been vocal on social media about how important promotions are in reaching the target audience.
