Veteran actor Sarath Babu's family and PR have come forward rejecting the ongoing rumours of his death. Earlier today, on May 3, the 71-year-old actor was reported to have succumbed to his illness and passed away in a private hospital. Sarath Babu's sister and close friends later came forward to vehemently dismiss the reports concerning his death and share that he is, indeed, doing well and on the road to recovery.

"The news circulating on social media is incorrect. Mr. Sarath Babu has slightly recovered and his room [in the hospital] has been shifted as well. I wish to see Sarath Babu garu will soon address the media on his own after recovering fully. I sincerely urge everyone to not pay heed to these rumours," said Sarath Babu's sister.

Popular Telugu actor Kiran, too, implored everyone to not spread rumours and, in turn, shared a timely update on Sarath Babu's health. Taking to social media to post a video message, Kiran said, "Our beloved Sarath Babu sir is recovering and is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital. It's unfortunate that reports of his passing are emerging in the media, but I would request everyone to spread the correct news that he is alive and recovering".

Sarath Babu, according to reports, was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad when his condition was assessed to be critical. He was undergoing treatment for multi-organ failure and was put on ventilator support. Reports add that he had fallen quite ill not very long ago in March 2023 and was admitted to a hospital in Chennai.

71-year-old Sarath Babu was born in 1951 as Sathyam Babu Dixithulu in Amudalavalasa in the Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. Known for his booming voice and tall build, he began his acting career in 1973 and began shuffling between the Telugu and Tamil film industries almost right away. Some of his best-known acting credits are with ace Tamil director K. Balachander including Pattina Pravesam, Nizhal Nijamagiradhu, Maro Charitra, Guppedu Manasu etc.
