Sarathkumar has been around the block for a long time and is now getting ready to star in his 150th movie of his career. The actor will next be seen in an investigation thriller titled The Smile Man, which will see him essay the role of a retired cop with Alzheimer's. 

As reported by The Times of India, Anand, who has written the film’s screenplay and dialogues, said that the story revolves around a retired police officer who must solve one last case before the mysteries of his life haunt him. 

He added, "The film will be an edge-of-the-seat thriller because Sarathkumar sir's character has Alzheimer's disease, so he must race against time to crack this case before he loses his memories."

The movie, which is set in Coimbatore, will see the star sport multiple looks for the movie and will not have a love interest in the story. The actor has already completed the photoshoot for the project and is expected to begin filming soon. 

Apart from Sarathkumar, the movie will also feature Sija Rose, who has been seen in movies such as Udanpirappe and Ineya in important roles, and George Maryan and Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom famed Rajkumar in supporting roles. 

On the technical side, the movie has Gavaskar Avinash as music composer, while Sree Saravanan and San Lokesh are the cinematographer and editor, respectively. 

The movie will be a landmark in the star’s career, marking his 150th film. The actor was seen most recently in the Tamil web series Irai , which is now streaming on Aha Tamil. 

The actor will also be seen in the upcoming Kannada movie James, starring the late Puneeth Rajkumar, and in Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan: Part I.
