Sardar 2: New poster ft Karthi in PS Mithran’s spy action sequel film out

The makers of Sardar 2, the upcoming sequel of the 2022 spy thriller film starring actor Karthi in the lead role, unveiled a new poster. Directed by PS Mithran who also helmed the first part, the sequel will feature the Aayirathil Oruvan actor reprising his character as a spy agent.

For the occasion of Karthi’s birthday on Sunday, the makers of Sardar 2 released a new poster on social media. Prince Pictures, which is backing the film, released a new poster which features Karthi in a heavily bearded look as he carries a rifle and stands beside a big jeep. From the looks of the poster, it looks like the Oopiri actor will be seen a full-blown action avatar. PS Mithran who directed Sardar, will be back on the director’s chair for Sardar 2 as well.

Besides Karthi, the film also features Malavika Mohanan, SJ Suryah, Rajisha Vijayan and others. Sam CS who scored for Kaithi , has replaced Yuvan Shankar Raja, as music composer. A release date for Sardar 2 is yet to be announced by the makers. However, it will release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.

Sardar is a Tamil spy action-thriller directed by PS Mithran, starring Karthi in a dual role. The film is available for streaming on Aha Tamil and OTTplay Premium. Sardar was one of the first few films acquired by the streaming platform when it extended its content catalogue to Tamil.

Sardar follows a disgraced spy who returns from exile to expose and destroy a bottled water conspiracy which is causing a threat to the national security. The film opened to positive response and starred actors Raashii Khanna, Rajisha Vijayan, Chunky Pandey, Laila, Rithvik, Munishkanth, Avinash, Yugi Sethu and Balaji Sakthivel, among others.
