Sardar Udham poster release: Vicky Kaushal’s film is an untold story of a brave patriot of India

Amazon Prime Video has been hosting a lot of patriotic projects off late. After recently streaming the Sidharth Malhotra starrer film Shershaah, the OTT giant is gearing up to release Vicky Kaushal’s Sardar Udham, the untold story of an extraordinary young man whose love for his motherland and his people drove him to dedicate his life to India’s freedom struggle.

The highly-anticipated Amazon Original Movie is the Shoojit Sircar directorial that has been backed by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar.
Vicky, who is portraying the titular character of Sardar Udham Singh, shared the latest announcement on the Instagram handle with the poster of the film and captioned, “My heart is filled with love as we bring to you the story of a revolutionary. This October, watch #SardarUdhamOnPrime, @primevideoin (sic).”

The digital streamer also shared the poster on Instagram and wrote, “you know the man but not his story. bringing to you the story of India's freedom fighter, this October. watch #SardarUdhamOnPrime (sic).”

The film is based on the heart-wrenching story of Sardar Udham Singh, a gallant man, who made sure that the world never forgets the Indians who got killed in the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre of 1919.

Ronnie, the producer of the film mentioned in a recently released statement, “It has been exhilarating to create this film that showcases and acknowledges Udham Singh’s patriotism and deep-rooted, selfless love for his motherland.” The filmmaker also mentioned that the team is presenting this untold story after two decades of researching. “Vicky has worked tirelessly to bring out the real essence of Udham Singh’s myriad emotions throughout his life’s journey,” he added.

Sardar Udham, which also features Banita Sandhu and Amol Parashar, is set to release on Amazon Prime Video in October 2021.
