Sarkaru Vaari Paata's release postponed? Mythri Movie Makers to announce new date today

Looks like we have the first after affect in Telugu cinema owing to the release of SS Rajamouli's magnum opus RRR on January 7, 2022. RRR's release date has upset release schedules of many films and looks like Mahesh Babu, Keerthy Suresh starrer Sarkaaru Vaari Paata is no exception to it. The film is directed by Solo, Geetha Govindam maker Parasuram Petla and was to release for Sankranti 2022 on January 13 initally. Mythri Movie Makers, that's co-producing Sarkaaru Vaari Paata, has shared an update that the team will announce a new release date today.

Trade circles are speculating that the film will release on April 1, 2022, a day ahead of the Ugadi festival, marking the beginning of the Telugu new year. The shoot of Sarkaru Vaari Paata has neared completion but for a couple of songs to be canned in Hyderabad.

Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Shankar, Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta are jointly producing the film under Mythri Movie Makers, 14 Reels Plus and GMB Entertainments. Telugu OTT platform aha has bagged the streaming rights of this action bonanza. Sarkaru Vaari Paata has music by S Thaman. Meanwhile, another film Bheemla Nayak is likely to opt out of the Sankranti race as well and is expected to release in the last week of January. So, will it be RRR versus Radhe Shyam alone in Telugu cinema for Sankranti 2022? Will there be any unexpected entrants? We'll know shortly.
