Sarkeet box office collection day 2: Asif Ali is going through a stellar phase in his career as his latest film, Sarkeet, has opened to glowing reviews. The Thamar KV directorial is Asif’s second film of the year after Rekhachithram, which also won the appreciation of both critics and audiences. The latest Malayalam film has made a total collection of Rs 77 lakh at the worldwide box office, as per Sacnilk. Let’s take a look at the box office collection details of Sarkeet.

Asif Ali’s Sarkeet box office collection day 2

After his debut directorial 1001 Nunakal, Thamar KV joined hands with Thalavan star Asif Ali for his sophomore venture Sarkeet, which released in theatres on May 8, 2025. The film has impressed critics with its heartwarming tale of a youth and a boy. Sarkeet opened with Rs 41 lakh in worldwide collections on Thursday. The day 1 Malayalam net box office collection is Rs 37 lakh and day 2 is Rs 32 lakh. The overall box office collection for two days is Rs 77 lakh. 

Though these are not staggering numbers for a film, Sarkeet is expected to collect more money in the coming days. The reviews have been positive for Sarkeet, which follows an NRK youth Ameer, who is struggling to find a job in the Gulf, as he meets and forms a bond with a hyperactive boy named Jeppu. The film portrays their unexpected friendship, even while highlighting parental dynamics in today’s world. Orhan Hyder plays Jeppu, while Deepak Parambol and Divya Prabha appear as his parents.

Sarkeet vs Prince and Family vs Padakkalam

Sarkeet released in theatres along with Padakkalam, which stars Suraj Venjaramoodu along with Sharafudheen in lead roles, on May 8, 2025. Padakkalam made Rs 76 lakh at the box office in two days. On the other hand, Dileep’s Prince and Family made Rs 1.14 crore in worldwide collections. 

It remains to be seen which of these films will emerge as the winner. However, the biggest challenge is Mohanlal’s Thudarum, which continues its successful run at the box office. Notably, Mohanlal's Empuraan, the Lucifer sequel, was also a winner at the box office.
