Sarvam Maya star Aju Varghese: 'Akhil Sathyan didn't want to hurt any religious sentiments so..'

Malayalam actor Aju Varghese is teaming up with Nivin Pauly after a while for the upcoming horror comedy, Sarvam Maya, slated to release on December 25. In an interview with Pearle Maaney, the actor talked about working with Akhil Sathyan and how the latter was determined not to offend anyone's religious beliefs in the film.
'Not hurting any religious sentiments'
Aju disclosed that Akhil Sathyan, the film's director, was concerned about the actor chanting the correct mantras rather than meaningless words during the puja scenes in order to avoid offending any religious sentiments. "We recited the exact words in the mantras, and Kanippayyur Narayanan Namboodiripad was on the set to oversee this. Akhil didn't want to offend any community," he said. The Swargam actor revealed that he will be portraying the protagonist's cousin in the movie.
He also mentioned in the interview that when given a script, he would rather read about just his character than read the entire thing. Speaking about his friendship with Nivin, Aju continued, "Many directors know how to use both of them well in terms of humour, and those flicks work well among the audience."

Sarvam Maya to release on December 25
Preity Mukhundhan, Riya Shibu, Raghunath Paleri, and Madhupal all play significant roles in the horror comedy. Prabhendu Namboodhiri, the protagonist of the movie, returns to his homeland and his ancestral home after a long hiatus. Things take a horrifying turn when he finishes a ceremony and finds a mysterious presence in his place. This has a more profound effect on his life. Sarvam Maya humorously illustrates Prabhendu's way of handling the circumstance.
The screenplay for the horror comedy, which is anticipated to be a humorous treat for the audience over the joyous holiday season, was written by the director himself. Sarvam Maya features cinematography by Sharan Velayudhan and music by Justin Prabhakaran. This is Akhil's second film after Fahadh Faasil-starrer Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum.
