Sarzameen Twitter Review: Disappointed fans find Prithviraj, Kajol's film 'below average'; 'Thrills take a backseat'

Ever since Sarzameen was announced, fans couldn't wait for the thriller drama to release. Starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kajol, and Ibrahim Ali Khan, the film is now finally streaming on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium. The film, directed by Kayoze Irani, was always planned for a direct OTT release. However, Sarzameen has been receiving mixed responses from fans as well as critics.

Following the release of Sarzameen, fans took to their X (Twitter) accounts and shared their reviews for Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kajol, and Ibrahim Ali Khan's political thrillers. Most of them said that the drama lacks thrills, while some said that it was a delightful watch. 

One review read, "The story tries for twists, but gets lost in melodrama—thrills take a backseat to heavy emotion."

Meanwhile, Kajol was praised for her performance as one review read, "KAJOL is the scene stealer in this beautiful film - after a long time, @DharmaMovies produced a beautiful emotionally driven family film, both @PrithviOfficial & #Ibrahim were good but Kajol takes away the cake by a good fraction. @kayoze made a beautiful film!"

"#Sarzameen is a below average thriller. Could have been more intense and gripping," read another review. 

One user wrote, "#Sarzameen had a solid premise but failed to deliver. Weak screenplay and direction let it down. Prithvi, Kajol & the rest of the cast did well, but there was no real emotional connect. Overall, a mid watch with no standout moments. AVERAGE."

Meanwhile, OTTplay review for Sarzameen reads, "Sarzameen walks the tightrope between patriotism and personal conflict but never finds solid balance. Laden with heavy themes, the film carries too much emotional baggage without strong storytelling support."

Sarzameen is a political thriller movie that is 2 hours and 17 minutes long. It revolves around Colonel Vijay Menon (Sukumaran), an army officer in Kashmir, whose son Harman (Ibrahim Ali Khan) gets involed in terrorists. The film discusses themes of duty, sacrifice, and family loyalty against the backdrop of terrorism.

The cast also includes Mihir Ahuja, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Rajesh Sharma, Jitendra Joshi, and others. Sarzameen is produced by Dharma Productions, with Karan Johar among the producers. The movie is directed by Kayoze Irani.
